Curio Daily ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Curio Daily mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — used to create and manage your account.
• Story preferences — the categories you select (e.g., Science, History) so we can personalise your daily story.
• Story read history — which stories you have read, so we don't repeat them.
• Feedback — optional reactions you give to stories ("I'm curious" / "Not for me"), used to improve story selection.

We do not collect your name, location, phone number, or any financial information.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your account securely.
• To deliver a personalised daily story based on your selected interests.
• To improve the quality and relevance of stories over time.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure each user can only access their own data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com)
• OpenAI — used server-side only to generate story content; your personal data is never sent to OpenAI

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the app. Upon deletion, all your personal data is permanently removed.

Children's Privacy

Curio Daily is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (via in-app account deletion or by emailing us)
